The Google 'ick' factor - Mapping tool shows man picking nose, sunbathers

SAN FRANCISCO, California (AP) -- Google Inc. bills the latest twist on its online maps as "Street View," but it looks a bit like "Candid Camera" as you cruise through the panorama of pictures that captured fleeting moments in neighborhoods scattered across the country.
In San Francisco, there's a man picking his nose on a street corner, another fellow taking out the trash and another guy scaling the outside of an apartment building, perhaps just for fun or maybe for some more sinister purpose. ...

Mung (or munge)
Posted May 30th, 2007 by BearMung (or munge) is computer jargon for making repeated changes which individually may be reversible, yet which ultimately result in the inability to recover of the original items. In 1960, the backronym "Mash Until No Good" was created to describe Mung.
Munging implies inseparability -- to make large-scale and irrevocable changes.
What is a “mash-up network?”
Posted May 30th, 2007 by BearWhat is a “mash-up network?”
A mash-up is the aggregation of distributed resources in to useful novel resources. “Mash-up networks" are networks of aggregated resources that can be further aggregated in to more novel resources.
The basis of a “mash-up network” is that each node in the network - each mash-up - that itself can be “mashed-up."
This means that a mash-up must not only add value to aggregated distributed resources but also present its resources in such a way that it can be further aggregated in to more novel resources.
Some interesting Drupal modules
Posted May 29th, 2007 by BearDirectory
The directory module presents a very simple and lightweight hierarchical 'directory-like' view (conceptually similar to DMOZ, Yahoo, etc.) of nodes that have been assigned to one or more designated taxonomy 'vocabularies' (depending on module configuration). This allows users to drill down on selected content on your Drupal site.
