I will be teaching a special two-week intersession course called Datacentric AI & Visualization - ENGR 5963 from January 3rd to 14th, 2022.

This course is a 2-week intensive boot camp version of another course called Visual Analytics which covers descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive models.

The focus of ENGR 5963 is descriptive models (mostly data visualization) and predictive models (mostly supervised learning). However, the pace of the class will depend on the class.

Each class is broken up into three sections: 1) lecture and concepts, 2) show and tell (students present the previous days' lab for group feedback) and 3) a lab with student groups of one to three people.

Twice a week assignments are due. Most assignments involve applying the labs to a group chosen dataset.

Every Friday there will be an online quiz (multiple choice or true/false) covering the concepts of the week. There will be a quiz review on Thursdays at the end of the lecture.

At the end of two weeks, each student will create a portfolio piece analysis applying everything covered in the labs to a student chosen dataset.
