Introduction
[0:00] Ola, this is Liam in for Bear. Figma make builds the app for free, not quite. It builds it on a credit meter and for this app the meter hasn't been read yet. Here's what the pages say it needs. Three terms, Figma make, Figma's prompt-to-app tool. You describe an app in chat and it writes and runs the code. AI credits, Figma's budget for its AI features, 3,000 a month on education, and a back end where sign in save data and secrets live, which make gets from Superbase.
Introduction
[0:26] The plan was a real course tool, a flashcard app with sign in built in Figma make with the credit meter read before and after. That takes a browser, a Superbase account and credits, so it's Bear's to run. Tonight, no make session. Instead, an agent read Figma's own pages for what make needs and wrote the brief Bear will paste in. First, who gets make? Figma says it's available for full seats on paid plans and that other seats and plans can try it. On the education plan, it's for higher education and boot camp users only after the updated verification. K-12 and high school accounts get no make at all. Next, what it costs. Make runs on AI credits and Figma's own word for the price is varies. It's examples on the default model, change a font about 30 credits and up. Make a design interactive about 75 and up. Generate an app from scratch about 100 and up. On education, you get 3,000 a
Month per person, no rollover, no top ups. And you can't see a price before you send. Figma says the model decides what actions it takes, so the credits can't be predicted in advance. After a prompt finishes, you hover the credits icon under it and read what it cost. The meter itself is under the main menu as AI balance. Sign in and save decks need a back end. Make use of Superbase for that, secret storage, compute, and a Postgres database. You bring a Superbase account or make a free one and authorize it once per team, one Superbase organization per Figma team, and make sets up key value stores, not a full SQL database. GitHub is two different things. Push to GitHub is on all plans, one way into a repository make creates on the default branch, no sync back. The other one runs make on your local code base. It opens a real repo makes branches and pull requests. That one is a closed
Beta a waitlist Mac only in the beta desktop app free for now seat rules not final. So here's the brief written from those pages three screens deck study results stored per user decks cards and study sessions. Sign in with email and password through super base and no deck shown before it a stop line at the end build these and nothing I didn't ask for. Some arithmetic not a measurement if Figma's examples held one build from scratch one back end prompt eight edits about 415 credits and up a seventh of the month. Roughly seven such sessions on one account fewer with plan mode attachments a dearer model or bugs fixed by new prompts. So the verdict is pending the pages say what make needs a higher ed seat a super base account and credits you read after not before. They can't say what the flashcard tool costs that number is the meter read before the brief and after it. That half is pending bear.
Your Turn
[2:56] Your turn paste this into Claude before I open Figma make here's the tool I want then paste your brief. List what I must have ready before the first prompt seat accounts back end. Estimate the credits using Figma's published examples and tell me exactly what to read off the AI balance before and after so I can check your estimate. Then check two things yourself does every item on the ready list come from a Figma page you can open and after the run. Is the meters difference close to the estimate?
